The road to pittsburgh; cont'd;

Ted called me yesterday and informed me that glen had taken his bodyfat calculations and he came to the conclusion that he is at five percent bodyfat! It seems as thought everything is falling into place and going as planned. As of this entry we are four weeks out from the show and tomorrow,(monday), we start the final phase of the cutting cycle. For the next three weeks we will workout using a variety of giant sets, drop sets as well as an array of different and unique training stratigies to really take the intensity in our workouts to a whole new level. If we stay on track as i am confident we will, ted will have very little between his skin and muscle when the show arrives! I will post one new set of pictures and then i will post a lot of pictures that i will be taking at the show. I am sorry that i cannot give any more information or pictures than that, due tot the fact that we want to keep the element of surprise on our side at all times and we don't want the competition to see what ted looks like until the day of the show. Some of our training techniques are unconventional and unique and are to be kept secret from prying eyes, that is how we want to stay in front of the competition. We are hoping that some of the training that we do will not be employed by others entering the show and that will give us the edge we need to hopefully come out on top!

Picture of ted;

This is another picture of ted doing shrugs with a close up of his right deltoid muscle. As you can see with every passing day progress is being made, it is amazing to see the difference after the weekend went bye. His vascularity is clearly visible all down his arms and there is much more yet to come! Hopefully by show time he will look like an anatomy chart that hangs on the wall at the doctor's office, at least that is the goal! I hope that these pictures inspire you as much as they inspire myself and those around us at the muscle mill gym in milltown, new jersey. In future entries i will touch upon the grueling workouts and workout schedule as well as the strict diet regiment as set up by glen miller, in my opinion, the best trainer that ted could possibly have helping him with his training and dieting for the show. I specialize in mass building and i am new to competition dieting, of course i've dieted down for the summer over the years, but never like what is required when doing a show. So we rely heavily on glen's expertise when it comes to competition dieting and training as he competed for over twenty years and has won many a trophy during that time. So don't forget to check back on a regular basis as the show draws nearer so will my entries become more regular as ted's progress will be going fast and it will be important to take pictures to keep up with his changes. Until then train hard and smart!

Ted's picture; cont'd;

This is a very recent photo of ted as taken by a photographer that came to the gym to take some pictures of ted while we were working out. As you can see he is steadily losing his bits of body fat, allthough we still have over five weeks before the competition and he will look even more shredded as the weeks go bye. We have mede some major progress over the past several weeks and plan on making even more major changes in the weeks to come. At this point in the process, diet is eighty to ninety percent of the priorities in his daily schedule. Don't get me wrong, training is of the utmost importance, however, we cannot build any muscle as of now and up to the show. All we can do now is hope that i was a good enough trainer in the off season to allow glen's diet and training program to "uncover" what we hope is an unbelieveable physique, with full, large and proportionate muscles throughout ted's entire body structure. Enough so that he is able to impress the judges in pittsburgh and come out on top! That, of course remains to be seen. So far, he looks pretty good and as long as he sticks to glen's diet and training regiment, which he is known to do, we should do pretty well in the show. Each week i will try to post a new picture of ted to keep you up to date on his progress. As the weeks go bye the training gets more difficult as ted's diet becomes even more strict and i am dieting with ted to keep him motivated and we can train in the same state of mind and level. I do not plan on entering any shows until i am, what i perceive to be, big enough to do so, but that also remains to be seen as well!

Ted's picture;

This is a picture of ted around the time just before we began our all out assault which we call our cutting cycle. I just wanted to give you a reminder of what ted looked like before i post more recent photos, so that you are able to see the vast differences in his physique since then. As you can see, ted is genetically gifted when it comes to arm development and let's not forget the fact that he has worked hard over the years to bring his body to this degree of development. The major difference is the fact that he came to work out with glen and i and that is when his true potential really came out as you will see with the next set of pictures that i post.

The road to pittsburgh, cont'd;

As of tomorrow we are six weeks away from the national bodybuilding show in pittsburgh. Ted has lost a considerable amount of weight and is steadilly going down to what is projected to be around the neighborhood of two hundred and thirty five to two hundred and forty pounds. Where he will finally end up is anybodys guess. All that we are sure of is the fact that he will be headed to pittsburgh in incredible condition and as hard and as shredded as humanly possible. As stated in previous entries on this subject, the workouts are getting even more intense and will remain so up until the week of the show. Next week i plan on posting some pictures of ted's condition to give you all a look at how far he has come up until then, i must say you will be impressed! Although we still have a ways to go, a lot of you not in the competitive world will be amazed to see the condition he is currently in. As well as surprised to see me write that he still has some more work to do to get into top competitive shape, in order to compete with the national level competitors that are destined to show up in pittsburgh, but we will be ready for anyone and anything! I hope that you will be inspired to try and reach your personal training goals when you see the pics of ted and come to realize just how much blood, sweat and tears it really takes to go this far!

Supplements;Part 2;

Recently i added essentisl fatty acids or (EFA's) to my diet, but not just any efa supplement. Afetr doing some research on the subject of essential fatty acids i came to the conclusion that i wanted to add udos brand of oil to my supplementation regiment. I have experimented with efa's in the past and have taken a vitamin shoppe brand of the supplement and i found no noticeable improvements after several months. I came to realize of late that the previous supplement was not high enough in the dosage clinically proven to cause positive results within the body, when taken properly. Afetr just several weeks on the new supplement i've already noticed improvements.
The list of positives is just way too long to place here for you to read but there is an enormous amount of positive scientific studies reinforcing the effectiveness of essential fatty acids when added to the diet. Udo's is an oil to be taken orally, one tablespoon three times a day, and a little more for weightlifters, i suggest that you do your own research to find out what works best for you.
Even though i try to stay up on all of the latest research and scientific findings regarding diet and nutrition when it comes to weight training and fitness, i must admit that this topic slipped through my fingers. My trainig partner, ted, has been taking udos for some time now and he swears by the supplement. I was always afarid of efa supplements due to the fact that i am allergic to any synthetic essential fatty acids, but udos contains no synthetic anything! I never realized the importance of essential fatty acids in the diet until i did my homework on the subject and came to the conclusion that efa's effect a host of importan metabolic processes within the body. I strongly recommend that you do a little research on this topic and add it to your supplementation program and i know it will add to your weightlifting and dietary goals!
