Squatting;

There has been some talk lately, that i've heard and seen about the depth of the squat one should go down to when squatting. Now, i know you've heard that squatting will give you a big behind and all that jazz but that is only true of powerlifters, which squat using the powerlifting stance, which is very wide. That is not what i am refering to here!
I have been squatting for the entire life of my weightlifting training and i keep my feet no wider than shoulder width and in my case, i go well below parallel. I do not recommend this for anyone who has been training for under two years, however i do recommend that you too keep your feet shoulder width and go to the parallel position.
Genetics do play a part, of course, as to how large your behind will get, but i highly doubt any noticeable difference other than a firmer gluteus maximus will result with my technique.This is not a new technique and it has been used in gyms around the world, even by the great arnold himself!
Don't get me wrong, there is a place for all squatting techniques, such as the six inch squat and so forth, but to build true size and muscle, start with a light weight and get the form down and work your way up from there. Your future will be much happier for the extra work and your legs will grow with immense size if that is your goal. For those of you not looking to put on massive amounts of muscle, stick with the lighter weights and keep the reps around fifteen to twenty five and do them correctly! The time you waste is your own and you are going to the gym anyway, why not make the most of the time spent there!
